GENERAL INFORMATION

The University of Connecticut is partnering with Academic Programs International (API), a preferred housing provider, to offer housing to students in Shanghai. API offers the University of Connecticut students the option to live in local student accommodations.

As a University of Connecticut student, you join a diverse community in a dynamic city. We encourage students unfamiliar with Shanghai, particularly first-year students, to take advantage of student housing. Program housing includes internet, maintenance services, and 24/7 emergency lines. No guarantors are needed, as API handles all of the housing arrangements.

APPLY FOR HOUSING

More information about the available housing options can be found below. Housing is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must be approved for the program by UConn, maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher, and not be on disciplinary or scholastic probation to be eligible to participate. Housing payments are non-refundable under any circumstances. After the standard housing application deadline availability may be more limited and cannot be guaranteed. Late housing requests will be considered on a space-available basis.

Once you have reviewed the information and are ready to apply, click on the “Apply for Housing” button in the top right corner of the page. You will rank each housing type in order of preference on the application and receive a confirmed housing offer after the housing application period has closed. All housing is subject to availability, and a student’s first housing choice cannot be guaranteed. Your specific housing assignment, including the address, will be provided two to three weeks prior to the start of the semester.

Questions about the housing options or the application can be sent to [email protected].
